Finding out you have a wasp nest in your house can be stressful, especially when you don’t have the resources to call an exterminator to clear it out for you or purchase pesticide. However, with just dish soap and water, you can spray the wasp nest and drive out those winged stingers without getting attacked. According to TikTok user @ra_gates, you’ll be needing a water gun as well. Squirt about half of a bottle of Dawn dish liquid soap into a bucket of hot water and make sure it gets nice and foamy. Then, fill up your water gun with this soapy solution. Walk right outside or to your attic where the nest is and give it several good shots to instantly decimate the wasp population.
Soap wipes out wasps because it blocks their spiracles which they use to breathe, suffocating them and essentially drowning them. This method works perfectly for smaller wasp nests. For a larger infestation, you might want to be extra prudent or just call a professional to handle the pests.
